Kitchen Remodel

We started remodeling the kitchen last year and this weekend we tore out and replaced the other part of the kitchen cabinets. It was a long weekend and with help from mom and Erik, we got it mostly done. There are just a few finishing touches and we have to move everything back into the kitchen - but we are close. We still want to put hardwood floors in and paint but the big part is done. Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

Jason Sends Flowers

Jason sent me flowers for my birthday!

He had them delivered to me at work the day before my birthday

because I took my birthday off.

Arizona - Day Two

Our second day in Arizona was spent traveling to the Petrified Forest and then back to Phoenix for our flight the next morning. The drive to the Petrified Forest was nice - the weather was beautiful and the drive was good. We reached the Petrified Forest and stopped at the gift shop first. We saw so many different colors in the wood - so much more than I remember as a kid - they had so many cool things and we brought a couple home.

The drive through the park was incredible - the colors in the soil and the rocks were so diverse and we enjoyed seeing it all. We saw ruins in the park and even pictographs on some of the rocks. It's cool to see where other people lived so many years ago and to see the evidence that they left behind.

The Painted Desert is also part of the Petrified Forest Park and we definitely enjoyed all the colors in that part of the park - God's handiwork is so incredible!

We got up way too early to leave for home on Monday - back to work and the regular daily grind. It was nice to have a couple fun days in Arizona!
